There are two ways to play Treasure Square without paying, and they are different games. Instant Treasure competitions can carry a free ticket allowance, and some map hunts are free to play outright.
Free tickets on Instant Treasure competitions
Where a competition runs with a free entry allowance, every registered account can claim its free tickets from the competition page before buying anything. Those tickets are real entries: they are checked against the instant-win pool the same way and they go into the main prize draw the same way.
Not every competition runs that way. Some run instead as a question of skill, where every entrant — paying or not — has to answer correctly, and there is no separate free route. Which model a competition uses is stated on its own page.
Free treasure hunts
Separately from competitions, some Treasure Square map locations are free to play. You get an allowance of square reveals on a real UK town map and whatever is hidden underneath is yours if you find it. There is no ticket and no purchase.

What free does not mean
Free entries are one allowance per account, not per session, and multiple accounts for one person are not allowed. That rule is what keeps a free route viable at all — without it a free allowance is just a bot budget.
